Applicant privacy notice
How we handle the personal data you provide when applying for a role.
Last updated 2 June 2026.
Who we are
The data controller is Pure Electric Limited, a company registered in England & Wales under registration number 11634997, whose registered office is at Unit 4 Axis, Hawkfield Business Park, Bristol, United Kingdom, BS14 0BY.
What we collect
When you apply for a role, we collect:
- Your name and contact details (email address and phone number);
- Your CV / resume;
- A cover letter (typed or uploaded); and
- Any role-specific files you choose to upload (for example, a portfolio or pitch deck).
We do not ask for your home address as part of the application. Please don't include sensitive information — such as health, ethnicity, religion or political views — as we don't need it to consider you for a role.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your information solely to assess your application and to communicate with you about it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting for our roles and, where you have given it, your consent, including your optional consent to keep your CV on file for future opportunities.
How long we keep it
Unless you ask us to keep your details on file, we delete applications (and any uploaded files) 6 months after the role closes. If you opt in to us keeping your CV on file for future opportunities, we retain it for up to 24 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Deletions are carried out automatically and remove both your records and your uploaded files.
Job alerts
If you subscribe to job alerts, we store your email address to notify you when we open new roles. Our lawful basis is your consent: we use a double opt-in (you confirm via a link we email you), and every alert includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, which permanently deletes your email from our alerts list.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. Essentialcookies are needed for the site to work and don't require consent. Analyticscookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you accept them — we don't load them otherwise, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time:
| Cookie | Purpose | Category | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| pe-cookie-consent | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies, so we don't ask again. | Essential | 6 months |
| Sign-in session | Keeps Pure Electric staff signed in to the recruitment dashboard. Not set for public visitors. | Essential | Session |
| _ga | Google Analytics — tells repeat visits apart to measure overall site usage. | Analytics (optional) | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics — keeps each analytics session together. | Analytics (optional) | 2 years |
We don't use any advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The application form's bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs without storing tracking cookies on this site.
Who we share it with
Your data is handled by our hiring team and by trusted processors who help us run this service. Each only processes what it needs to, under a data-processing agreement:
- Vercel: website hosting (serves the pages and handles requests).
- Neon: managed PostgreSQL database (stores applications and job data).
- Vercel Blob: private file storage for your uploaded CV and attachments.
- SendGrid (Twilio): sending transactional emails such as application confirmations.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: bot and spam protection on the application form (processes limited interaction data and your IP address).
- Google Analytics: website usage analytics, only if you consent to analytics cookies.
- Microsoft Azure OpenAI: AI tools that help our team review applications. Your data stays within a Pure Electric-controlled environment and is never used to train AI models.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Uploaded files are stored privately and are only accessible to authorised staff.
To help us review applications fairly and consistently, we use AI tools to summarise CVs and highlight relevant experience. These tools only ever assist our hiring team — every decision is made by a person, never automatically. If you'd prefer us not to use them on your application, just let us know and we'll review it manually.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw any consent at any time. You can exercise your access and erasure rights yourself below, or contact us at help@pureelectric.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
